If you remember I posted a few weeks ago about a basset we saw for adoption. I posted about finding him at a most unusual place, an orchard.
I won't retell any more of the story than that, if you missed it just scroll down and find the first part.
So if you follow us on Facebook you know what happened but here's the middle of the story.
Can you believe it was me that said no?
I'm just as shocked as you.
Maybe I'm crazy (no need to answer that).
But if we were to add another basset to our home I imagined one Belle's size, (considered "small" for a basset)
and a female.

I don't believe in coincidences, I felt that we were supposed to see that dog.
At first I thought it was because we were supposed to adopt him
(seriously, a pet rescue group with a basset at an apple orchard,
how else do you explain that one?)
But by the time we went to bed that night I realized that the whole encounter was meant for a variety of reasons. It reminded me how much Michael also loves dogs and how easily he can fall in love too.
So, the clue was to find the RIGHT basset for us.
So I reminded him about Willow.
So the next weekend Willow came for a visit with her foster mom.
She is so much like Belle in personality.
She is 3 years old,
tri-color but more black than brown,
and a-dor-a-ble!
She and Belle got along great.
They fell asleep on the floor just inches apart.
Michael held Willow in his lap.
She is lap dog size as she needs to put on a few pounds yet.
And that is all it took.
Michael was in love.
So, Willow will be coming to our home soon.
We can't wait!!
