5 a.m.

Typically 5 a.m. is not my favorite time of day to be up and about.  If given the choice, I would normally be sleeping at that time.  But I went to Nebraska the last 4 days to help with our new twin granddaughters.

And 5 a.m. became the time of day I most looked forward to.

Because at 5 a.m. I would relieve Elliot and Finnley's Dad from baby duty so he could get ready for work.  I would cuddle in the recliner with one of the girls and we would just have some quiet time together.

Sometimes we would sleep.

Sometimes I just enjoyed looking at the girls and drinking a cup of chai.

The house was quiet and it was awesome.

It allowed me to hear every sigh....

  see each effort-filled stretch....

I even got to see Elliot giggle in her sleep which was priceless....

and lastly I enjoyed seeing them drift off to sleep as we rocked.

As a grandparent there are a lot of awesome moments with your grandchildren.

But some of the most amazing  are the quiet ones when you can just be in awe of how perfect they are .....

.....and how blessed you are.
