Be Careful What You Wish For

When our only dog was Belle I tried to teach her to fetch her leash when it was time to go somewhere.  I really wished this was something she would do as I thought it would be "cute."    Belle could not have been less interested in doing this.  She would sit and just stare at me, as if to say, "If you want the leash, YOU fetch it!"

So I quit trying

and yes, I fetched.

Then along came Willow,  the exuberant basset hound.  She is so excited about everything in life.  A backyard breeder had her and she is loving life as a companion dog and all the attention that brings.  She knows where her leash is kept and unlike Belle, DOES get it out of the basket

multiple times a day.

I am constantly picking it up and putting it back.

Sometimes she gets it out and just lays with it.  It is pretty pitiful.

So be careful what you wish you, it just might come true!
