Oats 'n Honey Granola Pie

Ready for a recipe that is to die for??   I got this recipe about 5 years ago.  It came from a Pillsbury Bake-Off winner who was on the Oprah show.  She made this recipe on the show and I knew I had to try it.

This is a fun, easy dessert that is best served warm.

Oats 'n Honey Granola Pie

1 Pillsbury Pie Crust

Filling:

1/2 cup margarine or butter
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup corn syrup
1/8 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs, lightly beaten
4 Nature Valley Oat & Honey granola bars (2 pouches), crushed
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/4 cup quick oats
1/4 cup chocolate chips

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Place crust in a 9-inch pie plate (I use a deeper one).  Microwave margarine or butter 50-60 seconds until melted.  Stir in brown sugar and corn syrup.  Stir to blend.  Beat in salt, vanilla, and eggs.  Stir in crushed granola bars (leaving them in the packages and crushing with a rolling pin is easiest), walnuts, oats, and chocolate chips.  Pour into crust.

Bake 40-50 minutes until filling is set and crust is golden brown.  During the last 15 minutes cover the crust with foil.  Cool 30 minutes before serving.  Service with ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in refrigerator.

I would love to hear your comments if you make this!

Happy Friday.
