Another cold spell has stuck around and between being busy running to appointments and work my crockpot has come in handy. I love letting it cook while I work so at the end of the day I can enjoy dinner and relax with Michael.
This week I made beef stew.
Here's what you will need:
Crockpot Beef Stew
1 packet Crockery Gourmet Seasoning Mix For Beef
2 cups water
1-2 pounds stew meat
4 carrots, cut into bite-size pieces
4 stalks of celery, cut into bite-size pieces
3 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces.
Combine the packet of seasoning mix with the water and set aside. Put meat in the crockpot and add carrots, celery, and potatoes. Pour the water/seasoning mixture over all. Cook on low for 7-8 hours. DO NOT STIR. This bastes itself while it cooks. I don't even uncover it.
The recipe is actually on the back of the seasoning packet (called the basic recipe).
Here's a closer look at the seasoning packet:
It is by the chili packets, sloppy joe mix packets, etc., in our grocery store.
This has a wonderful flavor and the beef is so tender! We usually have this with a loaf of fresh-baked rustic bread. A perfect combination!
There's nothing like a hearty beef stew to warm you up at the end of a cold day. No matter how hectic your day has been comfort food always puts things right again.
Enjoy!
Happy Friday!
