Kids and Their Toys

With a busy weekend of yard work and a long shopping list of items needed  Michael suggested we get a garden cart.  I said, "But when the flower beds are done, I won't need a garden cart anymore!"

He just laughed.  He knows better.

Our new saying here is, "All my plants have wheels."

So here was our shopping list:

8 plants

15 bags of river rock

8 bags of mulch

weed barrier

weed barrier pins

new solar lights

190 pavers

3 - 4 x 4 x 8 pieces of green treated lumber

7-foot step ladder (not needed for yard work, but needed to replace ours)

............and a garden cart

The guys at the home improvement store joked and told us we needed a Tahoe instead of our Trailblazer.  Michael wants a pickup for his next vehicle.  On weekends like this that would sure come in handy.

Michael helped unload everything and I had everything scattered around the yard according to where it was going, but doing the flower beds like this is my project.  I love doing it.  Michael loves the end result,  but doesn't really enjoy doing yard work  like I do.  Which is good, because it is therapeutic for me.  Sometimes I just need some R & R by playing in the dirt.  And my job is sedentary, his is not, so I also need the exercise.

As much I enjoy everything we got....

the garden cart was the BEST!

It was so nice to be able to load it up with rock, mulch, plants, etc., and tool around the yard with it.  The sides, front and back come off.  That was handy for the 40-pound bags of rock.  I could just push them off when I got to their destination.

My only regret....

not getting this years ago!!

So what do you have that is like your "toy?"
