Love Letters

My friend Shawn gave me a heads up about the site moreloveletters.com  Michael and I enjoy doing random acts of kindness and this fits in perfect with that.

The World Needs More Love Letters (on Facebook) is part of the website and is a group of people who write encouraging notes for others.  These aren't romantic, mushy love letters, but rather "make someone's day" notes.
 The opportunities are endless!!

Each month the website emails you first names of people who need some support and encouragement.  (People are suggested by friends and relatives.)  You write a note, send it to the  main office, and they mail out the letters to the recipients.  So your notes are always anonymous.

But you can take it a step further and be more intentional about writing encouraging notes to those you know who need to hear those words.

Another really fun thing that moreloveletters.com encourages, is leaving random notes in various places for people to find.  The feeling is that the person who needs that note will find it.  It is so fun and helps inspire positive feelings.

Last week I needed to run to the store so I took a note and tucked it in a book at Starbuck's, with the envelope sticking out so it would be noticed at some point during the day. I can't help but wonder who found the note.

I hope it made their day.

There are so many things in life that can cause us to worry and have bad moments or days.  That's why I like to try to focus on the positive.  It isn't always easy.  Life happens and we are all human.  But it takes such little effort to make someone else's day.   This is not my note, but one someone else wrote:

If you enjoy doing this type of thing, please check out the website moreloveletters.com and The World Needs More Love Letters on Facebook.

We get enough depressing news and negativity throughout the course of the day.   Spread some handwritten cheer!
