Foodie Friday! - King Mallows

This is my all-time favorite holiday candy.  I got the recipe 20+ years ago and have made it every year since.  It will fill the craving for the chocolate lover in your family!

King Mallows

Melt:

3 Giant Candy Bars (approximately 4 x 6 in size - the BIG ones)
Nestle, Hershey Bars, Hershey with Almonds - pick what mixture you like
I use Hershey and Hershey with Almonds

Pour in 8 x 8 pan lined with parchment paper.

Sprinkle with 2 cups mini marshmallows.

Melt:

1 6-oz pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
Another 4 x 6ish Size Candy Bar

Pour over marshmallows and spread to cover.

Chill to set.

Take out of pan by lifting parchment paper. The candy will slide off the parchment paper easy.   Use a butcher-type knife to cut into bite-sized,  irregular-shaped pieces.  This freezes wonderfully!

Tips:
Here's what I do.

I double the recipe and use a 13 x 9 pan.  If you make a single batch, you will wish you had made a double batch!

I melt all chocolate together at the very start - both layers (so doubling it I break up 6 candy bars and melt that with 12 oz of chocolate chips in the microwave).  Pour half  of the chocolate mixture into the pan. I don't measure the marshmallows, but sprinkle the amount I want, then pour the other half of the chocolate over and spread to cover the marshmallows.

I let it sit in the fridge for several hours to allow it to set to make it easy to cut.
The cutting is a messy process, but well worth it.

I'll be anxious to hear if anyone tries this recipe!

Happy ChocoFriday!
