About 25 years ago there was an elderly lady in our church, Billie Jo, who had the most wonderful personality AND the best recipes, especially for various bars. She was a joy to spend time with. Here's one of the recipes that I got from her.
Pay Day Bars
Part I
1 white cake mix
1 stick margarine - melted
1 egg
Press in greased 9 x 13 pan and bake 10-15 minutes.
Part II
White still hot, cover this with 4 cups of mini marshmallows. Place back in oven until marshmallows puff up (just a few minutes). Take from oven and let cool.
Part III
Melt:
3/4 cup Karo syrup
1/4 cup margarine
12 ounces peanut butter chips.
When smooth, add:
3 t. vanilla
Stir in:
2 cups Rice Krispies
1 cup peanuts
Spoon over top of marshmallows to cover and cool in fridge.
Enjoy!
Happy Friday!
