We Did It Again!

Last week I blogged about missing our dogs' vet appointment.  We were trying to do a good job of time management so when free time presented itself we were being impulsive and trying to get things done in order to free up time later in the week.

Yeah,  that didn't work so well.

So we rescheduled their vet appointment for Friday at 5:00.  I even wrote it on my to-do list for the day.

Friday started out with me getting a few things done around the house after Michael went to work.  About 10:00 I took off to run errands around town and got home about noon to find the garage door open.  My first thought was, "Did I leave the garage door open?" Then I spotted Michael's car in the garage.  He ended up having Friday afternoon off!

AWESOME!

So, the masters of time management that we are, we decided to head to Cedar Falls to do something we were going to do on Saturday.  That would free up our Saturday and we could focus on home projects that day instead.

So off we went. We arrived in Cedar Falls and did our errands.  Then we met Lindsay, Jacob, and Abigail at Scratch Cupcakery.  A trip to Cedar Falls can not go by without Michael stopping there.

After we visited, said goodbye, and got in the car to head home I looked at my cell phone.  I saw I had missed a phone call from the vet.  Hmm.... the girls are at home,  I wonder what the vet's office wants.....

Then my eyes got HUGE.

And I gasped, "Michael!!!!  We did it AGAIN!"

Seriously.

This is SO unlike us.

So we re-rescheduled for the following morning at 9:00.  I knew if I made it for later in the morning there was a chance I would forget yet again.

So at 8:45 Saturday morning, with "apology donuts" for the staff in hand, we arrived at the vet's.  Luckily we have an awesome vet and staff and they laughed at our week.  Our vet appreciated the extra time late in the day to work on files and get caught up when we didn't show for our appointments, so it didn't bother her a bit.  When one of the girls found out we brought donuts because of our missed appointments she said, "You should miss more!"

No thanks!

So if you want ideas on effective time management I suggest not asking us.
