This weekend was busy, but fun. On Saturday we went to Minnesota to visit my oldest brother and sister-in-law. It was 6 hours round trip, but we had a great time and it was great to catch up with them and their family. The weather was perfect and we were able to sit outside and visit. We arrived home late, got groceries, crashed, and were in bed at midnight.
(This is late for us, but we didn't turn into pumpkins!)
You know our plan for quiet Sundays I blogged about a bit ago? Yeah well, so much for that this weekend.
On Sunday we got up and while Michael was getting ready I decided to mow. Then we took off for my hometown (another 6-hour round trip drive). Michael has been itching for a pickup and there was one up there we wanted to check out.
So while on the road mid morning, the second day in a row, my phone rang. It was our daughter-in-law's mother. And oddly enough the first thing she said was, "How are those quiet Sundays going?"
I just laughed. Michael and I keep joking, "When is that going to start?"
We have had some quiet Sundays and they have been wonderful.
But sometimes life just happens.
So our quiet Sundays are a work in progress.
But I can guarantee you a quiet Sunday next weekend (I'm 50% sure about that).
