Last week our house was getting a bit cluttered. Not "horrible, hoarding, and send in someone for an intervention type clutter", things just needed to be picked up and put away. Tasks needed finished.
There were 2 loads of laundry sitting in a basket in the living room that needed folded. (Things like socks and towels - so the world doesn't come to an end if they have a few wrinkles).
An economy-sized package of paper towels sat in the corner by the hallway - so close to the hallway closet, their final destination. But the trick was finding room in the hallway closet for them.
The dining room table is a train wreck - it is where I make greeting cards so when I am working on cards it is a mess until I put everything away (which is becoming less often).
I needed to unload and reload the dishwasher - just one stack of dirty plates on the kitchen counter, but I really dislike waking up to dirty dishes. It isn't a very fun way to start the day.
That's pretty much it I guess, but I have come to realize that when I have this clutter in my house, my brain gets cluttered as well. I seem to function better if things are picked up around the house. Now don't confuse picked up with clean. You will find dust in our house, but I do like things in their place for the most part.
So I will blame the house clutter and calendar clutter for being unorganized the last 2 weeks.
I'm wondering, do your surroundings affect you mentally as well?
