Put On a Happy Face

The other morning I was crabby, with a capital C!  It was one of those mornings where I could hardly stand to be around myself.  Hopefully you have had one or two of those yourself - I would feel a lot better if you have.

What brought me out of it?

I was in the car taking Belle and Willow to "the spa" (the vet for boarding).  Belle is pretty nonplussed by the process.  She is content to go - everyone there loves them - and she knows we pick her up again.  Sure she is always happy to get home, but she is okay with being there as well.  Willow is not used to that process yet, so on the drive to the vet's office she cried....

and cried...

and cried.

It was pretty pitiful.

Suddenly I found myself singing, "Gray skies are gonna clear up... put on a happy face!" I turned and glanced at Willow... and realized how funny that song was for a basset.

Bassets are capable of a lot of things - some that would surprise you, but putting on a happy face is NOT one of them.

And I couldn't help but laugh.

And with that, crabby with a capital C was gone.
