Starbarb's

My Mom was the Queen of Coffee.  She made pot after pot during the day.  She didn't care if it was several hours old - she drank the same pot until most of it was gone.  If my parents went somewhere and she came home and wanted coffee she warmed a cup up in the microwave.

I used to own a Dolche Gusto coffeemaker.  It was a single cup coffeemaker.  Michael doesn't like coffee so when I made a whole pot much of it went to waste and to be honest I like each cup to be really fresh.

It got harder and harder for me to find the pods for the Dolche Gusto.  I could order online, but as I may have mentioned a time or two dozen, I'm not very patient.

I thought Keurigs were over rated and said I would never own one.

Is there a crow around?

In December I took the plunge and bought a Keurig.  It was an awesome deal.  It is one of the larger ones (Platinum Plus Series) and came with 48 K-cups, 2 filters, and the My K-cup so I can use any brand of coffee I want to create my own pod.

Michael says I now have a "whole corner of the kitchen as a shrine to coffee." The awesome thing about the Keurig is I can make a variety of coffees, cappuccinos, apple cider, or hot chocolate.  (I have to be honest, the hot chocolate does not taste good in my opinion, but with all the other options available I can live with that).

I can choose from 5 different cup sizes.  I love that if it is a stronger, bolder coffee, I can make a really big cup to weaken it to the strength I like.  I can also run a little water through it after making a cup of coffee to "rinse" it if someone else wants apple cider or something else after.

So far my favorites are:

Green Mountain Breakfast Blend

Starbucks Italian Blend

and

Donut Shop Coffee

But a Caramel Cappuccino, Vanilla Cappuccino, Caramel Cafe coffee, Folgers Vanilla Biscotti coffee, or Apple Cider once in a while is a nice treat.

While I have only had it about 6 weeks, I love my Keurig.  And yes I bought a  carousel for the pods and enjoy picking out what flavor sounds good at the moment.

So bring on the crow.

I don't think it will taste quite so bad with a good cup of hot coffee.
