Roads permitting we will be gathering with some of our kids and grandkids tomorrow. Like everyone else a big part of our get togethers revolve around food.
After dinner and opening gifts the munchies come out.
Here's what we usually have at our Christmas get togethers.
Lefse
Tortilla Rollups
Party Mix
Puppy Chow (recently added)
Taco Dip
and of course an assortment of Christmas cookies and candies
I might be missing a few. There is never a shortage of food.
Today's recipe is the Taco Dip.
So if you need a last minute recipe for a Christmas get together and haven't had this one before, it is easy to make!
Taco Dip
8 oz soft cream cheese
8 oz Mexican style sour cream (I use AE Mexican dip)
Mix together. Spread in a 9 x 13 pan (I use a large glass plate for the holidays).
Brown: 1 pound hamburger
Add: 1 package taco seasoning.
When cool spread over cream cheese mixture.
Top with your favorite taco toppings:
Shredded lettuce
Olives
Tomatoes
Shredded cheese
Chill.
This recipe came from Laura Schlichting. She has always had the best appetizer and munchie recipes!
Enjoy your pre-holiday weekend!
