Foodie Friday! - Ham Balls

I thought I had posted this recipe before, but in going back through my blogs I didn't spot it.  If I missed it... just don't say anything!

This is one of my favorite meat recipes.  I got it from Noradel Larsen, who is an awesome cook. While most of my favorite recipes came from my mom, Noradel is not far behind in helping to fill my cookbooks over the years.

I made these for our block party last night and they were a treat as always.  I've enclosed the recipe for a full batch. I usually make a half batch, but they freeze well if you decide to make some now and put some in the freezer for later!

Noradel's Ham Balls

5 pounds ham loaf (or 2 pounds ground ham and 3 pounds ground beef)
2 eggs
2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1 can Carnation milk

Mix well (I use my Kitchen Aid mixer).  Shape into balls.  Place in greased casserole dish or roaster.

Sauce
1 can tomato soup
1-1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white vinegar

Mix well and pour over ham balls.  Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes.
Sometimes I double the sauce... as I love extra sauce.

Happy Friday!

  1. I'd obviously have to make a couple substitutions.. :)
But if you freeze it, do you freeze just the ham balls, or with the sauce?

  2. You can freeze with the sauce on Melissa!!
