Foodie Friday! Gone to the Dogs

Hello, it is me, Belle.

B-e-l-l-e.

My Mom is letting me take over the blog for today to tell you about one of my favorite t-r-e-a-t-s.

We call them Belle's Peanut Butter Dog Treats.

If you have a cute furbaby like me around your house, please make them.  We dogs love peanut butter!  Just the smell of peanut butter makes me drool, but lots of things make me drool.

Okay, enough about my drool and back to the recipe.

Here's how my Mom makes them.

Belle's Peanut Butter Dog Treats

1 c. flour
3/4 c. oatmeal
1/4 c. wheat germ
1/4 c. peanut butter
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1/4 c. honey
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 c. water

Combine all ingredients.  Add more flour if needed, but the 1 cup works perfectly for my Mom.  Roll into balls the size of a large grape to make bite-sized cookies for a medium-sized dog like me.  Put on an ungreased baking sheet.  Flatten with a fork like you do when you make peanut butter cookies for yourself.

Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes.

Let them cool and then hand one or two over!

Maybe afterwards you can take your dog to the d-o-g p-a-r-k.  We love that too!

I suppose you are wondering how a basset hound knows how to spell.  My Mom and Dad do it all the time, so I've got it down pat.  They think they are having a secret conversation when they do that.

Just don't let on that I know though, okay??

Happy Furbabies and Happy Friday
(or something like that)!

  1. Bella, are these soft or hard treats? Pablo does not have many teeth and likes soft treats.

  2. They are soft ones. My Mom has to alternate between them and dentastix or milk bones so I don't get too much tartar. Pablo will love them!
