BIG BIG Week!

Last week was a really REALLY big week in the Morris house.

After a 27-year career with Hy-Vee, Michael left his job on April 1.  He felt it was time to make a change and do something different.  In the last 3 months he has had interviews and job offers, but we knew it was important he really wait for the right job to come along.  It is hard to be patient, but we just kept praying about it knowing God had something in mind for him.

Last Thursday Michael was offered a job at Electric Wholesale here in Ames. He will be a warehouse specialist working in shipping and receiving.  The staff is awesome, the hours wonderful (Monday through Friday), and while they do an amazing amount of business, they have a small business attitude with the importance of family and taking care of their employees as high priorities.  Michael is excited about this job as well as the people he will be working with.  And it will be SO wonderful to have our weekends free together.  It will make it easier to see our kids and grandkids, and just have quality time together.

That was Thursday.

That same day I had a job interview.

The  next day, Friday,  I received a job offer from Iowa Ortho in Des Moines.  I have been with the Mason City Clinic for 19 years so it is hard to leave that, but it is time for me to move on as well.  This is the #1 thing I could not see myself doing which I referred to in Monday's blog.  In the past I could see myself retiring at Mason City Clinic, but times have changed and I've had to change with them.

I will be a QA Reviewer.  I will mainly be doing editing and returning to my first love - Orthopedics (sigh).  I will also be working Monday through Friday with pretty much the same hours as Michael's.  I will train on site in Des Moines for 2 weeks, then work from home again.  Working for a staff of 33 orthopedic-podiatric related specialists will be wonderful.  While I will help with clinic-wide work as needed, I will be assigned several providers as my primary workload.

Two job offers two days in a row.  It doesn't get much more amazing than that.

But what else IS amazing is that we had a lot of family, friends, and neighbors supporting us, encouraging us,  and praying for us.  A neighbor on Facebook told Michael about the job opening he has accepted.  We are blessed to have such wonderful, caring people in our lives.

With this streak of wonderful things happening we thought we should buy a lottery ticket on Saturday and we did.  And we matched!!!!

Okay we only matched 2 numbers so we didn't win anything.

But God definitely knows what we truly needed and proved once again that He will provide for us if we just have faith and patience.

We kept reminding ourselves of the post we had seen on Pinterest and Facebook....

"You know that thing you are worried about Child?  Let it go.  Remember, I have this covered."   - God
