Different, But The Same

It doesn't matter where you live, nor how much you earn
The sex of your mate to me is no concern
Your title at work   - on your door or your desk
Does not mean a thing; you're no better, no less.

The make and the year of the car that you drive
Is not a true sign of having arrived.
To be rich is a blessing, but the riches to earn
Are those given by God, for those blessings I yearn.

What matters to God is what's in your heart
Do you love one another?  For that is an art.
God asked that we do what we wish done for us
That we love and encourage, have faith and trust.

We're all the same: people with feelings and dreams
To judge one another is silly it seems.
We're all God's creations with strengths and with flaws
And we all have His grace and so we should pause.

And remember, our job is not to condemn
That's a job I don't want, I'll leave that to Him.
What a much kinder world we would have if we would
Accept one another and just look for the good.

If we looked past the differences, instead we would see
We are much more alike than you think we might be.
God's grace is for all, He looks past our sins
If He can still love us, we too should forgive.

Think twice before speaking, then make your words kind
Do things for others, keep that thought in mind.
You don't know what someone has been through in life
You've not walked in their shoes, you've not seen their strife.

When pointing out someone whose life you have deemed
To be wrong or sinful remember the key
There's one finger pointing at them, that is true
But three other fingers point right back at you.

You don't have to agree with my thoughts, they are mine
Acceptance, not judging, is much more divine.
So if you should read this I ask that you please
Give others the same grace that you have received.
