Cuddlebugs

I am a cuddlebug.  I admit it.  I remember sitting in church on Sunday and leaning on my mom.   I'm not sure it is a good thing that is what I remember most about church, but it's a fun memory.  I still like to cuddle - Michael, kids, grandkids, Belle.  It's all good.

I was just wondering why I have such an affection (I refuse to use the term "addiction") for blankets.  I always say they are for Belle, but that really isn't being honest.  I love blankets.  How much? you ask.  Well let me show you.

This is the MAIN blanket - this is the one Belle and I cuddle up with on the sectional.  Once in a while Michael will use it too :)  It is big enough that all 3 of us can use it.. if Belle shares!

Then there's the "meant-to-be-pretty" throw.   I didn't think I would ever say this, but this really is not meant to be used.

Then there's the backup... just in case.  Just in case what....I don't know.

And that's just the living room!

In the office there is the throw I cover up with when I get cool while working.

In the bedroom is my FAVORITEIST (I know that isn't a word) "blanket."   It is really a down alternative comforter that we use as a blanket.  I just love it cuz it is so soft and cozy.  We actually have 3 of these in the house.  One in our bedroom, one in the guest room, and another.. well...you know,  just in case!

Then there is another quilt that is a "Belle blanket" - we put it on our bed so she can sleep up there but keep any dog hair contained.

Then there's the throw in the guest room.

And this basket of throws in the hallway... just in case.  Who knows when our whole family might be here and the furnace would go out and we would need this many throws and blankets to keep everyone cozy??

I won't go into how many blankets and throws are in the closet, but let's just say there are plenty to choose from.

When I was really little I had the habit of sucking two of my fingers and rubbing the silk edging on blankets.  Never thought I would be admitting that on my blog!  I found it comforting.  Think my dentist thought it may turn into an income opportunity, but luckily it didn't!
Then as I got a little older  I remember going to bed at night with about 3 blankets topped with a chenille bedspread.  I was weighed down by covers so much  I could barely move.  Unless it was summer and really hot, my parents kept that number of blankets on that bed, so even up to my late 40s when I would go to visit I would climb in that bed and feel like a little kid again.

I guess I liked that feeling...

to me it was security.

So maybe that's why I love blankets so much.

So if you stop over and it looks like we're waiting for a slumber party to break out... it's just life at the Morris house.  That's how I roll.  (Always wanted to use that phrase!)

Or.........

maybe it's really not the blankets.....

but those I get to cuddle with :)
