Food for Thought Friday: What's New in the Library!

I'm not spending much time cooking and baking in the kitchen right now. I find that rather ironic as we just upgraded the kitchen in February and March, and I am now spending less time there than ever before.

Let's be honest - posting "Thursday night was Italian night at the Morris house - consisting of Hy-Vee lasagna and frozen garlic bread" just isn't that interesting or unique.  Hy-Vee has awesome lasagna, but I can't take credit for it!

So I thought it would be a good time to mix up my Friday blog a bit.  I'm keeping with the "food" theme and will alternate between recipes and "food for thought" featuring what is new in the library.  We are putting new things in every 2 weeks, so be sure to stop by, take whatever might interest you, and if you have a book you want to share, drop it off for someone else to enjoy.  If you want, attach a little sticky note to the binding telling others you loved it.  It is fun to see what other people enjoy reading.  If the library looks full, it's not, feel free to tuck a book or two behind the others - we will find them!

So, here's what is new in the library!

For the older readers:

Healthy Living by Joan Lunden

Standoff by Sandra Brown

Last One Down by Joyce & Jim Lavene

Friend to Friend by Lois Wyse

What the Night Knows by Dean Koontz
(I read this book and LOVED it - I love a good creepy book!)

The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger

Great Tales & Poems of Edgar Allan Poe

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares

and the kids selections...

Judy Moody Was in a Mood by Megan McDonald

Goodnight My Angel - A Lullaby by Billy Joel

Arthur's Promise by Marc Brown

Something Special by David McPhail

 and

Miss Nelson is Back by James Marshall

In addition, there are some books in the library dropped off by someone over the weekend.  Thank you to whomever left them - we appreciate it!

Our hope is that it will not simply be "our" library, but that the whole neighborhood (and even those outside the neighborhood who enjoy it) will take part in it and it will become much more than a Morris project. It is there for everyone to use - regardless of where you live.

"In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but rather how many of them can get through to you."
- Mortimer Jerome Adler

Enjoy!
